Legacy Planned Giving

Making a planned gift is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Iliff School of Theology and its mission while achieving your own personal, financial, estate-planning, and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may actually increase the size of your estate and/or reduce the tax burden on your heirs. Just as important, you will know that you have made a meaningful contribution to Iliff. Please contact Greg Movesian, vice president institutional advancement, at 303.765.3113 or gmovesian@iliff.edu for more information.

People have made at least a start at understanding the meaning of life when they plant shade trees under which they know full well they will never sit.

The Iliff Legacy Society was organized in 1999 to recognize and thank alumni and alumnae and friends who have made a commitment to the Iliff School of Theology through their will, a trust, a gift annuity, a life insurance policy, or another deferred gift. Your planned gift represents an expression of confidence in Iliff, and your deeply held beliefs and cherished values. This will be your lasting legacy, expressing the fulfillment of your hopes and dreams through Iliff.

Membership in The Iliff Legacy Society does not require a minimum gift level. Board policy directs that bequests or other planned gifts that are not designated for a particular purpose or for the Endowment will be added to the Endowment Fund if the gift is $10,000 or more. If an undesignated bequest or other planned gift is less than $10,000, it may be used for annual operations in the fiscal year it was received. Designated bequests will be used as directed by the donor to the extent those directions can be followed, and bequests designated by the donor for the Endowment will be placed in the Endowment Fund no matter what the size of the gift.

Membership in the Iliff Legacy Society is for life. The names of legacy society members will be added to the Tree of Life Plaque on public display at Iliff and to the Honor Roll of Iliff Legacy Society Members. There is no membership fee, and there is no requirement to disclose the details of your bequest or planned gift, except to state that you have made provision for Iliff in your estate plans.
